Our Campus
The physical environment of The Children's School plays an integral part in each child's educational experience. Our Midtown campus is eclectic and architecturallly rich. Parents, students and faculty praise the feel of the campus, which evokes a small village in the midst of one of the largest cities in the country. By having a number of seperate buildings instead of one structure that houses all classes, our campus allows for freedom within boundaries, a hallmark of our educational philosophy.
In additinal to the buildings that house our classrooms and administrative office, our TCS campus also houses the following:
- a well-equipped science lab
- an acoustically designed music room
- a large gymnasium with a performance area
- a media center with a twenty-four-terminal computer lab
- a library which includes a reading room and gallery space for children's art
- an art center
Security
The Children’s School contracts deputy sheriffs and retired Atlanta City Police Officers to provide daily security to the School to ensure the safety of the students, faculty, staff and visitors between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on dates that the School is closed. The Security Officers’ duties include regular patroling of the interior of the School’s grounds and its buildings and work areas, direct traffic during scheduled carpool times, and patroling and monitoring the front entrances of the School.
