The school counselor works with all students in the classroom on affective issues. Students have the opportunity to request one-on-one time as needed. The counselor is also available to parents to discuss student-related issues. In addition, our counselor provides resources for families to support our Building Character and Community program at home.
The Resource Program is designed to help children with varied learning styles, and the Resource Specialist assists teachers and parents in working with these students. One of the program’s components is initial testing and evaluation. Parental permission is required for children to be assisted in the resource program.
The Children’s School does not offer on-site diagnostic testing. When teachers and parents agree that testing may be beneficial, the Resource Specialist and administration will recommend professionals who have educational testing expertise.
